Namecheap Aftermarket MCP serverand Python AI tasks
qbash hosts a Namecheap Aftermarket MCP server you can use in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok Bot and Muse.
Developers use qbash Tasks to write cloud-hosted Python functions that pair Namecheap Aftermarket with models such as Claude and GPT.
MCP server
Build a Namecheap Aftermarket MCP server
Give ChatGPT, Claude and your other AI tools access to Namecheap Aftermarket through one server. You pick which Namecheap Aftermarket tools it shares, and you can add other connectors, memory folders and Tasks to the same server.
How to set it up
- Connect Namecheap Aftermarket on the qbash Connectors page.
- Create an MCP server and add the Namecheap Aftermarket tools you want to share.
- Paste the server URL into your client. It connects with OAuth or an access token.
Python AI task
Write a Namecheap Aftermarket task in Python
A qbash Task is a hosted Python function that calls Namecheap Aftermarket and AI models.
Shortlist upcoming domain auctions
Read one page of .com auctions under $500 ending soonest, then ask an inline prompt to shortlist names worth a closer look.
report = qbash.integrations.namecheap_aftermarket.list_sales(
tld="com", price="_500", order_by="end_time", direction="asc",
no_hyphens=True, no_numbers=True, nsfw=False,
)
if report["items"]:
shortlist = qbash.ai.run_prompt(
slug="namecheap-auction-shortlist",
variables={"auctions": json.dumps(report["items"])},
)
qbash.output({"shortlist": shortlist, "next_cursor": report.get("next_cursor")})
else:
qbash.output("No auctions matched these filters.")
Sample list_sales response
{
"status": "success",
"items": [
{
"id": "sale-example",
"name": "workflowexample.com",
"tld": "com",
"price": 125,
"end_date": 1790812800,
"bid_count": 2
}
],
"count": 1,
"next_cursor": null,
"has_more": false
}
What the Namecheap Aftermarket connector can do
- List auction sales with cursor-based pagination and rich filtering (price range, TLD, age, backlinks, rankings)
- Fetch a single auction sale by its opaque sale ID (returned by list_sales)
- List the authenticated user's bids with page-based pagination
- Place a proxy bid on a sale. The system automatically bids the minimum needed to win, up to max_amount
qbash Tasks: AI applications in Python
A Task is a Python function that calls Namecheap Aftermarket, your other connectors and models such as Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok. qbash hosts and runs it.
Run Tasks on a schedule or from your team's tools
- Deterministic where it counts Write the logic in Python and call a model only for the steps that need judgement, so the rest runs the same way every time.
- Version controlled Every save is a revision you can compare and roll back.
- Logged Each run records its inputs, output, errors and what started it.
- Shared credentials Connections belong to your organization, so a Task keeps working when its author is away.
Namecheap Aftermarket MCP questions
Can the Namecheap Aftermarket MCP server spend money?
Yes. place_bid commits you to a proxy bid up to max_amount, and Namecheap bids the minimum needed to win up to that amount. Disable place_bid on your qbash server if a client should only research.
Is this the same key as the Namecheap registrar API?
No. Namecheap Market uses a separate JWT API key from its Dashboard. The registrar connector uses an API user, an API key and an allowlisted IP.
