Supabase MCP serverand Python AI tasks

qbash hosts a Supabase MCP server you can use in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok Bot and Muse.

Developers use qbash Tasks to write cloud-hosted Python functions that pair Supabase with models such as Claude and GPT.

MCP server

Build a Supabase MCP server

Give ChatGPT, Claude and your other AI tools access to Supabase through one server. You pick which Supabase tools it shares, and you can add other connectors, memory folders and Tasks to the same server.

How to set it up

  1. Connect Supabase on the qbash Connectors page.
  2. Create an MCP server and add the Supabase tools you want to share.
  3. Paste the server URL into your client. It connects with OAuth or an access token.

Python AI task

Write a Supabase task in Python

A qbash Task is a hosted Python function that calls Supabase and AI models.

Review the status of your Supabase projects

List the projects your token can see, then ask an inline prompt to flag any that are not ACTIVE_HEALTHY.

main.py
report = qbash.integrations.supabase.list_projects()
projects = report.get("projects", [])
if projects:
review = qbash.ai.run_prompt(
slug="supabase-project-status",
variables={"projects": json.dumps(projects)},
)
qbash.output(review)
else:
qbash.output("No Supabase projects are visible to this token.")
Sample list_projects response

"status": "success",
"projects": [
{
"id": "project-example",
"ref": "project-example",
"name": "Production",
"region": "us-east-1",
"status": "ACTIVE_HEALTHY"
}
],
"project_count": 1
}

What the Supabase connector can do

  • List all accessible Supabase projects
  • Get details for a specific Supabase project
  • List organizations the user is a member of
  • Get details for a specific Supabase organization
  • List tables in a Supabase database schema
  • List installed PostgreSQL extensions for a Supabase project
  • List database migration history for a Supabase project
  • Apply a SQL migration to a Supabase database
  • Execute a raw SQL query against a Supabase database
  • Retrieve project logs from Supabase for debugging
  • List all storage buckets in a Supabase project
  • Create a new storage bucket in Supabase
  • Get details about a specific Supabase storage bucket
  • List files in a Supabase storage bucket

qbash Tasks: AI applications in Python

A Task is a Python function that calls Supabase, your other connectors and models such as Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok. qbash hosts and runs it.

  • Deterministic where it counts Write the logic in Python and call a model only for the steps that need judgement, so the rest runs the same way every time.
  • Version controlled Every save is a revision you can compare and roll back.
  • Logged Each run records its inputs, output, errors and what started it.
  • Shared credentials Connections belong to your organization, so a Task keeps working when its author is away.

Supabase MCP questions

Does Supabase have an official MCP server?

Yes. Supabase hosts one at mcp.supabase.com/mcp and aims it at app development. The qbash server puts Supabase on one URL with your other connectors, shares it with your organization and lets Python tasks call the same methods.

Can the assistant change my database?

Yes. execute_sql runs any statement the token allows, and apply_migration records a schema change in the project’s migration history. Disable both tools on the qbash MCP server if the assistant should only read.

How far does a personal access token reach?

It covers every project in every organization its owner belongs to. Connect a token from an account that sees only the projects you want an assistant to touch.
