Google Drive MCP serverand Python AI tasks

qbash hosts a Google Drive MCP server you can use in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok Bot and Muse.

Developers use qbash Tasks to write cloud-hosted Python functions that pair Google Drive with models such as Claude and GPT.

MCP server

Build a Google Drive MCP server

Give ChatGPT, Claude and your other AI tools access to Google Drive through one server. You pick which Google Drive tools it shares, and you can add other connectors, memory folders and Tasks to the same server.

How to set it up

  1. Connect Google Drive on the qbash Connectors page.
  2. Create an MCP server and add the Google Drive tools you want to share.
  3. Paste the server URL into your client. It connects with OAuth or an access token.

Python AI task

Write a Google Drive task in Python

A qbash Task is a hosted Python function that calls Google Drive and AI models.

Build a contract document index

Find PDFs with contract in the filename, then ask an inline prompt to group them into an index with links.

main.py
report = qbash.integrations.google_drive.find_files(
query="contract",
file_type="pdfs",
exact_match=False,
page_size=50,
)
files = report.get("files", [])
if files:
index = qbash.ai.run_prompt(
slug="google-drive-contract-index",
variables={"files": json.dumps(files)},
)
qbash.output({"index": index, "more_available": bool(report.get("next_page_token"))})
else:
qbash.output("No matching contract PDFs were returned.")

}
],

What the Google Drive connector can do

  • Find a folder in Google Drive by name, or list every folder
  • Create a new folder in Google Drive
  • Delete a folder from Google Drive
  • List files in Google Drive, optionally filtered by folder
  • Delete files from Google Drive by name
  • Copy a file to a new location in Google Drive
  • Move a file to a different folder in Google Drive
  • Download a file from Google Drive
  • Rename, move or mark a Google Drive file by ID
  • Create a new file in Google Drive
  • Upload a local file to Google Drive
  • Make a Google Doc from a template by filling its {{name}} placeholders
  • Read a Google Doc's paragraphs and indices through the Docs API
  • Apply Google Docs API batchUpdate requests to a document

qbash Tasks: AI applications in Python

A Task is a Python function that calls Google Drive, your other connectors and models such as Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok. qbash hosts and runs it.

  • Deterministic where it counts Write the logic in Python and call a model only for the steps that need judgement, so the rest runs the same way every time.
  • Version controlled Every save is a revision you can compare and roll back.
  • Logged Each run records its inputs, output, errors and what started it.
  • Shared credentials Connections belong to your organization, so a Task keeps working when its author is away.

Google Drive MCP questions

How much of my Drive can it reach?

All of it. The connection requests Google’s full drive scope, so the server sees every file the signed-in account can open, shared drives included. Add only the find and download tools to a server whose clients should just read.

Can it search inside file contents?

Yes, through drive_query. The plain query matches file names only, and a Drive search clause such as fullText contains 'indemnity' passed as drive_query searches the contents.
