Mixpanel MCP serverand Python AI tasks

qbash hosts a Mixpanel MCP server you can use in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok Bot and Muse.

Developers use qbash Tasks to write cloud-hosted Python functions that pair Mixpanel with models such as Claude and GPT.

MCP server

Build a Mixpanel MCP server

Give ChatGPT, Claude and your other AI tools access to Mixpanel through one server. You pick which Mixpanel tools it shares, and you can add other connectors, memory folders and Tasks to the same server.

How to set it up

  1. Connect Mixpanel on the qbash Connectors page.
  2. Create an MCP server and add the Mixpanel tools you want to share.
  3. Paste the server URL into your client. It connects with OAuth or an access token.

Python AI task

Write a Mixpanel task in Python

A qbash Task is a hosted Python function that calls Mixpanel and AI models.

Check event values against your tracking plan

Read plan values on a signup event and ask an inline prompt to report any value outside the expected set.

main.py
report = qbash.integrations.mixpanel.get_event_property_values(
eventName="Signup Completed",
propertyName="plan",
limit=100,
)
values = report.get("values", [])
if values:
check = qbash.ai.run_prompt(
slug="mixpanel-tracking-check",
variables={"values": json.dumps(values),
"expected": json.dumps(["free", "starter", "business"])},
)
qbash.output(check)
else:
qbash.output("No plan values were returned for this event.")
Sample get_event_property_values response
{
"status": "success",
"values": [
"free",
"starter",
"business",
"unknown"
],
"value_count": 4
}

What the Mixpanel connector can do

  • List all event names in a Mixpanel project
  • List properties for a specific Mixpanel event
  • Get unique values for a Mixpanel event property
  • Run a segmentation query to get event counts and unique users
  • Run a funnel query to analyze conversion across user journeys
  • Run a retention query to track user engagement over time
  • Query Mixpanel user profiles using the Engage API
  • Track a single event in Mixpanel
  • Track multiple events in a single Mixpanel API call
  • Update Mixpanel user profile properties
  • Increment numeric properties on a Mixpanel user profile

qbash Tasks: AI applications in Python

A Task is a Python function that calls Mixpanel, your other connectors and models such as Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok. qbash hosts and runs it.

  • Deterministic where it counts Write the logic in Python and call a model only for the steps that need judgement, so the rest runs the same way every time.
  • Version controlled Every save is a revision you can compare and roll back.
  • Logged Each run records its inputs, output, errors and what started it.
  • Shared credentials Connections belong to your organization, so a Task keeps working when its author is away.

Mixpanel MCP questions

Does Mixpanel have an official MCP server?

Yes. Mixpanel hosts one at mcp.mixpanel.com/mcp, which an org admin enables and which signs each user in with OAuth. The qbash server can put Mixpanel on one URL beside other connectors and Tasks.

Can the Mixpanel MCP server change data?

It can send events and set or increment profile properties. qbash has no Mixpanel method that edits or deletes events, reports or dashboards.

Which credentials does it need?

A project token and project ID, plus a service account username and secret for the Query API calls. A project secret also works, though Mixpanel treats it as legacy.
